Frequently asked questions

Short answers about visiting, beliefs, membership, giving and this website — each pointing to the page with the full details.

Visiting

Are Sunday services being held?

The church’s previous website listed Sunday services as temporarily postponed, with scripture study available by appointment. That status has not yet been re-confirmed, so please contact the church before travelling. Current details are kept on Gatherings and availability.

Where is the church?

The address published on the previous website is 51778 US-491, Cahone, CO 81320, Dolores County, USA. It is awaiting confirmation by the church; call (970) 562-8888 to check before visiting.

How do I book scripture study or life coaching?

Use the contact form and choose the appointment topic, or call or email the church directly. Nothing is booked automatically by this website.

Beliefs and membership

What does the church believe?

The church’s beliefs are set out in its own words in Beliefs, starting with Declarations and Beliefs, Part One. They are presented as the church’s religious beliefs.

What is a “Free Church”?

The church explains its own use of the term in Establishing Questions. That page states the church’s position; it is not legal advice.

How do I become a member?

Start at Membership, which describes the steps the church published and lets you send an inquiry. Membership is not granted through this website.

Is there an online member area?

Not yet. The member sign-in page explains that member accounts are not connected on this website, and asks you not to enter a password anywhere on it.

Giving, shop and legal questions

Are donations tax-deductible?

This website does not make any promise about tax treatment. The church’s own view is in Establishing Questions; for your own situation, please speak to a qualified tax adviser. See Support the church for how to ask about giving.

Can I buy products here?

No. The shop keeps the church’s previous listings as an archive while they are under review. There is no cart or checkout on this website.

How do officials or the press contact the church?

Use official inquiries. The church’s published notices are in Public notices; they state the church’s position and are not court orders or government determinations.

This website

Why does some text look different?

Wording carried over from the church’s previous website is shown word for word in framed “Verbatim” sections, including original spelling and struck-through text. Anything written for this website is labelled “Added for this website”. See how content is presented.

Do the forms on this site work?

Forms are not yet connected to a server, so they do not send anything on their own. Each form says so and offers to open an email to thechurchoftheonlybegottenson@gmail.com, or you can call (970) 562-8888.

I found a problem with the website.

Please tell the church using the contact form (choose the website topic). Accessibility details are on the accessibility page.

Still have a question?

Write to the church or call, and ask for the page or document you need.
